Why are the Women of Connaught throwing in their bras?
and will YOU join them !
One might be tempted to say “what next” but believe it or not this has previously accumulated 114,000 bras for Breast Cancer Awareness on the Island of Cyprus.
Well the West Coast of Ireland is the latest venue for this undertaking.
Mayo Cancer Support Association will set about the task of collecting 120,000 bras and forming an unbroken chain which will be in excess of 70 miles long.
In any language this is an enormous task but with the good vibes it is receiving and the spirit in which it is being undertaken I think we have a fun event that will be a topic of conversation in pubs, clubs, homes etc for the foreseeable future.
Thrown in with the attempt will be lots of fun ideas for instance we have the three Mayo Roses launching the project. Over the next few months we will have celebrities both national and international lending support. Updates will be announced in all the papers, radio, T.V. stations and here on the website, so that the impetus will continue to encourage and instill in the public an unprecedented level of interest.
You may ask “how is this going to create awareness and raise much needed funds” We believe that the publicity generated from the attempt will make people aware of the services we provide and in so doing allow people the opportunity to support us with practical help such as a donation with each Bra submitted.
So to get involved with this fundraiser and Mayo Cancer Support it’s very simple. To break this world record we are asking the women of Ireland to send a bra and a donation to Mayo Cancer Support, Castlebar, Co Mayo.
